I am incredibly proud and excited to announce that our first Athlete of the month for 2024
is… Danielle Enwright!
Valencia Marathon Dec 23 – 3:09
Kingston Half Marathon Oct 23 – 1:28
Danielle joined the club and my coaching at the start of October 2023 after plateauing in her
previous training and in the space of just 3 months, she achieved an amazing 18-minute
Marathon personal best in Valencia with a time of 3:09 – booking herself a place for London
Marathon with a Championship Qualification time!
Along the marathon block journey, Danielle also hit her sub 1:30 Half Marathon goal with a
time of 1:28 – a 4-minute personal best!
With a change to her previous training, we worked together to focus on the benefits of
easier ‘Zone 2’ running, integrating more speed sessions and hill sessions into weekly
training, sticking to the 80:20 easy - hard miles rule, and focusing on racing strategy – with Danielle nailing negative splits in both Kingston and Valencia!
Whilst the results speak for themselves, so much hard work and dedication has gone into
achieving these in the background and helping to unlock Danielle’s huge potential. When
reviewing weekly training results, I am always met with a sea of green for completed
activities across running, mobility, core work, strength work and so much more – including
one 3am training session before an early morning flight! I for one would still be in bed
enjoying my sleep and taking a day off… but this once again goes to show Danielle’s level of
discipline and desire to achieve her goals – putting in the extras that all add up and reaping
Next up for Danielle in 2024 and beyond, we have big goals in mind with London Marathon,
a return to Valencia Marathon and looking to break sub 20-minute 5km, sub 40-minute
10km and improving her Half Marathon time – all of which I have no doubt she will achieve
with her continued passion and discipline towards her training.
Proud coach for a very worth winner to kick start off this year’s AOTM winners –
