As I announced last month, I’ll be publishing a reoccurring article for my chosen ‘athlete of the month’. For Feb the athlete of the month is… Rebecca Duncan.
She’s shown great consistency throughout her training since the very beginning, hitting basically every session and exceeding the target pace I had set for her.
Recently she’s had setbacks, but her positivity and proactive approach to these injuries is the main reason I’ve chosen her. Rather than letting these niggles get her down and not doing anything about it, she’s continued the training as planned. The only difference being, instead of doing the sessions running, she got them done on the cross trainer instead.
We can’t always control the niggles we are going to get whilst training but we can control how we react to these and she shown great signs of resilience, positivity, persistence and commitment.
Can’t wait to see how you do at Manchester marathon in a few weeks’ time. We’ll aim for the stars and if by some reason we come up short, then we’ll rebuild and come back stronger for Chicago marathon later this year!
Who will be the athlete of the month for March?
