The Athlete of the month, for the month January is.... Catherine Hill
I have seen many consistent months before, but very rarely have I seen a month as consistent as Catherine’s January! If fact her Training Peaks calendar was so green in January I had to manually enter a different run just to check it was working properly!
I’ve always said the races are the dessert from the training that goes into them. Sometimes it’s not all about nailing races, or getting PB upon PB, it’s about being consistent! The rest will flow naturally.
By being consistent, following a structure that works for you and most importantly having fun is a recipe for success in this sport!
What a great start to the year from Catherine, like many in the team. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the talented athlete, if she keeps on nailing months like this.
When I asked her what her favourite session is, it came as no surprise that it’s the Canova 1km over/under session. A big tempo session and one I know she loved seeing when it’s in her plan. In fact she loves it so much I had to include it at the end of this month too.
Wish she loved hills as much as tempo but hey, I guess that will come 😉
Seriously well done Cath! Phenomenal start to the year and great example to the rest of the team! A few more weeks and then the races kick off for the year. She’s targeting Wokingham half and Manchester marathon! Can’t wait to see how you get along!
